Yes it's true the Chevy Malibu is still in production to this day, yet it's only similar by name to the original Malibu that began production all the way back in 1964. The Chevy Malibu has been through an amazing 8 generations but it's the first two generations that are etched into muscle car history.

The best versions of the Malibu were created between 1964 and 1972. Keep in mind the Malibu is actually the same car as the Chevy Chevelle just slightly upgraded. Chevrolet used the names Malibu and Chevelle somewhat interchangeably during the late 60's and early 70's. Either way the Chevy Malibu and Chevy Chevelle are great examples of Classic American Muscle Cars.
