The Dodge Coronet is one of the most under appreciated muscle cars of all-time. While the Coronet was originally produced all the way back in 1949 it wasn't until 1965 that Dodge recreated the Coronet and turned into a full fledged muscle car. The Coronet was the sister car to the Plymouth Belvedere/Satallite and in the late 1960's Dodge created a very sporty Coronet R/T and also a Coronet Super Bee which was essentially the same car as the Plymouth Road Runner. Not nearly as many folks would be as familiar with the Coronet as they would be familiar with the Road Runner, and that's good news! Because of the lesser known reputation of the Coronet you can often times get them for a lower price.

Both the Coronet Super Bee and the Road Runner were beautifully designed muscle cars. The Coronet was redesigned once again in 1971 and it was still a fairly cool muscle car at that point yet it's glory days were clearly in the late 1960's. I had a white 1972 Coronet with a 400 cubic 4bbl when I was in high school. The car looked like a family car but it was shear brute. I surprised a lot fo kids in the Mustangs with that car.
